Description

This high school-level class is designed for students who have a solid knowledge of essay structure. During the first few weeks, we will review basic note-taking and summarizing (IEW units 2,4, and 6), practicing articulating and supporting an argument/angle. These skills are foundational. We will then focus on the research paper, covering the following topics: understanding prompts, collecting and evaluating evidence, note-taking, annotating, plagiarism, citations, integrating quotations, and works cited page.

The class includes SAT vocabulary.

Students receive personalized feedback on their writing.
